Upon arrival that day at the veterinary clinic, the normally shut down Bumble Bee took the opportunity to run. She bolted out of the car while in the parking lot of the vets office. She ran down the median of North Avenue in Glendale Heights during morning rush hour. For those not familiar with the area, it's a three lane divided highway with a lot of traffic. Several drivers stopped to try and help, but she was a scared dog on the run. She eluded every attempt to catch her.
She kept running going through residential properties, business parking lots and through back yards. Over two hours later, she was seen in Nazo Park running into the very, very large forest preserve area to the east. That was a Tuesday morning.
That was Day One.
