I took the girls out to the river house. We were all very relaxed and calm. She loves driving in the car and curls up next to Millie. The cabin is new for her, she walked very well on a leash, of course, I had her on a double leash! She is very cautious when you walk her… Nothing like walking your average dog. Once we were settled in the house, she found her place on the futon so I made it up nice with blankets and pillows so she felt at home. No matter how many times I took her outside to go potty, she would not do it. She held it for 18 hours. When she finally went, it took everything in me to praise her very calmly, and not like a crazy person! I was so happy. She adjusted well to the new surroundings. She had no problem eating or taking treats. Two neighbors came over to meet her and she did not appear to be nervous and she did not look away! She even took a treat while laying on the futon as they sat next to her, not looking at her, just petting her. Baby steps. She did end up having two accidents in the house but it’s understandable. It is all new for her, and she teaches me patience every single day.🙏🏼❤️🐾
